Chalcedonite products for construction applications
Chalcedonite, thanks to its origin, contains silica with a highly developed pore system. It is a highly reactive silica characterised by a large specific surface area, which particularly predisposes this material for use in construction chemicals.
Our portfolio contains:
- crushed aggregates;
- chalcedonite sands;
- chalcedonite powders.
These products can be used as active fillers in cement-based products:
- The pozzolanic activity of chalcedonite powders allows for high mechanical strength, which increases with time.
- The pore structure increases the frost resistance of the products.
- The almost 100 per cent silica content guarantees high abrasion resistance.
- The reactivity and porosity counteract the occurrence of alkaline corrosion in concrete mixtures.
- The addition of chalcedonite powders helps to seal the concrete structure.
